My Story

Where it all started

My first wild swim was on a cold, wet October day at Loch Venachar. The water was choppy, I was nervous, and I had no idea how much that one swim would change things.

I was hooked. Something about being in the loch, outside, moving, breathing, just clicked. Over time, swimming outdoors became a steady part of my life and eventually led me to train as an STA Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coach, mentored by an Olympic swimmer.

My background is in archaeology and sustainable development, and I still carry those values with me. I believe we should leave nothing behind but ripples in the water and take away only memories.

Through Wild in Scotland, I want to help people get the best out of open water. From finding confidence on a first swim to pushing distance, building skills or training for events. I want to share the joy of swimming outdoors and create a space where everyone feels welcome.

If any of this speaks to you, I would love to meet you in the water.
