My Story

Where it all started

My first wild swim was on a cold, wet October day at Loch Venachar. The water was choppy, I was nervous, and I had no idea how much that one swim would change things.

I was hooked. Something about being in the loch, outside, moving, breathing, just clicked. Over time, swimming outdoors became a steady part of my life and eventually led me to train as an STA Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coach, mentored by an Olympic swimmer.

My background is in archaeology and sustainable development, and I still carry those values with me. I believe we should leave nothing behind but ripples in the water and take away only memories.

Through Wild in Scotland, I want to help others feel safe and steady in open water. I want to share the joy that comes from swimming outdoors and build something welcoming, something that feels like it belongs to everyone who joins.

If any of this speaks to you, I would love to meet you in the water.
