A gentle introduction to open water swimming
 

Wild Start is for anyone curious about swimming outdoors but not sure where to begin.
 

These 1-2-1 sessions are designed to help you feel safe, steady and supported as you take your first steps into open water. Whether you’re a complete beginner or someone returning after a long break, we’ll go at your pace, with no pressure and no expectations.
 

You don’t need to be fast or fearless. Just willing to try.
 

What’s included in your session 

  • A one hour coaching session tailored to your experience and comfort level
  • A short pre-session guide so you know what to expect
  • A safety briefing before we get in the water
  • Help with getting in and out of the water smoothly and safely
  • Kit advice, including wetsuit use and tow float guidance
  • Support with acclimatising to the temperature and environment

How many sessions should I book?

 

For most people, two to three beginner sessions work well. They give us time to build your confidence step by step, cover the basics without rushing, and help you feel calm and ready for whatever comes next. You’ll also get a chance to explore a beautiful local swim spot while learning to trust yourself in the water.

Intermediate 
 


Wild Flow
 

Confident swimming for those ready to build skills and strength
 

Wild Flow is for swimmers who feel steady in open water and want to build on that. 

Maybe you’ve done a few dips and want to go further, or maybe you’re ready to focus more on technique, stamina or flow.
 

These 1-2-1 sessions are flexible and supportive. We’ll work at your pace, with time to practise, adjust and find rhythm in the water.

Advanced 
 


Train Wild
 

Focused coaching for experienced swimmers and goal driven training
 

Train Wild is for swimmers who feel confident in open water and want to build strength, endurance or efficiency.

 Whether you’re preparing for an event or just want to challenge yourself in a more structured way, this session is shaped around your goals.
 

We’ll look at pacing, technique, kit use or anything else that matters to your swim. I’ll meet you where you are and help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Comfortable in open water and working towards a goal? 

These sessions are for experienced swimmers who want to refine technique, improve efficiency or prepare for an event.
 

Whether you’re training for a triathlon, swim event or just looking to sharpen specific skills, I’ll shape the session around your aims.

  • A short safety briefing before we get in
  • Support with technique, pacing, race strategy or kit setup

Group Sessions 

Wild Together
 

Group sessions for connection, movement and shared experience
 

Wild Together is about more than swimming. It’s about sharing space, moving as a group and enjoying the water with others.
 

These sessions are a chance to learn, laugh, train or just be still. All in the company of other swimmers and under calm, supportive guidance.
 

Whether you book as a private group or join an open one, each session is shaped to the needs of the swimmers in the water that day.
 

Types of group session
 

Private Group Sessions

Book with friends, family or colleagues. Ideal for small groups with a similar level of confidence or swimming experience. Great for birthdays, team days or just doing something different together.
 

Open Group Sessions

For intermediate or experienced swimmers. Join a small group of others and work on fitness, technique or confidence in a safe, supportive environment.

There is a maximum limit of 6 people for any group water based coaching sessions.

Swimbles 

Easygoing group swims with space for movement, connection and rhythm
 

Swimbles are relaxed monthly group swims for people who want to share the water without pressure.
 

Some swimmers come for a gentle dip and a chat. Others prefer to find their rhythm and get a bit of distance in, knowing there’s company nearby. There’s no fixed pace, no coaching plan and no judgment, Just time in the water with others who love being there too.
 

Come solo or with a friend. Swim side by side or do your own thing. Everyone moves in their own way, and that’s part of what makes it work. 

    Important to know 

  • Swimbles run with a minimum of three swimmers. If fewer than three are booked, I’ll contact you to reschedule or offer an alternative.
  • Kit required: wetsuit, tow float, swim shoes or boots, and swim cap.
  • You must be able to swim 200 metres comfortably. If I haven’t swum with you before, we’ll do a quick check first. 

Swimbles run once a month and offer a regular chance to swim with others, feel part of something and enjoy the outdoors.

wild pause Sessions 

Cold water sessions for hormonal shifts, midlife transitions and moving at your own pace
 

The Wild Pause is a small group session designed for anyone navigating hormonal changes  including perimenopause, menopause or just the weight of midlife.
 

These sessions are about taking time, feeling held by the water and connecting with others who get it. There’s no pressure to swim fast or far. Just a quiet space to show up as you are, breathe, move and feel supported.
 

Open to anyone aged 16 and over who feels this is the right space for them.
 

What to expect

  • A pre-session guide so you know what to bring and how to prepare
  • A safety briefing to make sure everyone feels comfortable
  • A group of up to six swimmers
  • A gentle, supportive swim in Loch Venachar at a pace that works for your body
  • Time for conversation, reflection or quiet connection with others

KIT HIRE

I want everyone to feel the benefit of being outdoors and to be able to swim safely, whatever your experience or background. To make that possible, I offer essential kit hire through Wild in Scotland, so you can get into the water with confidence.

Tow Floats

You will also need a tow float. These help you stay visible to other water users and from the shore. I have a selection available for you to use.

All swimmers must use a tow float during sessions. It is one of the key bits of kit that supports a safe and enjoyable swim for everyone.

£3 per session

Wetsuits 

Wetsuits are made from a material called neoprene, which helps to keep you warm while you swim. I have a small number available to hire in a range of sizes.

All swimmers are required to wear a wetsuit during sessions. This is to help keep you warm and safe in changing weather and water conditions.

£10 per session
