At Wild in Scotland, I believe open water swimming is about more than just the swim itself. It’s about helping people feel confident, connected and at ease in the wild.
Based in the heart of Stirlingshire, I offer 1-2-1 and small group coaching in some of Scotland’s most beautiful outdoor locations. Whether you’re completely new to cold water, looking to improve your stroke or training for an event, I’ll tailor the session to suit you.
Everyone’s welcome. No pressure, no judgement. Just time in the water at your pace.
If you’re curious, have questions or want to see if this could be for you, take a look around or get in touch. Ready to try it for yourself? I’d love to swim with you.
Hi, I’m Louise Gamble. I’m an open water swim coach and the person behind Wild in Scotland.
I’ve loved being outdoors and in the water for as long as I can remember. For me, wild swimming isn’t just something I do. It’s part of how I feel calm, grounded and connected.
I’m an STA Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coach with additional training in safety and first aid, so you’ll always be in good hands.
Whether you’re dipping your toes in for the first time or preparing for your next event, I’ll meet you where you’re at. My coaching is supportive, flexible and built around what you need from the water.
I offer 1-2-1 and small group sessions, so whether you prefer to swim solo or share the experience with others, there’s space for you here.
I’m here to help you feel safe, confident and steady, one swim at a time.

"I was very nervous for my first swim as I am not great with the cold! Louise made me feel so comfortable and talked me through the importance of being aware of how I was feeling when in the water. She talked me through the safety elements of not letting myself get too cold.
When in the water Louise constantly checked in with me and encouraged me. I absolutely loved it and was feeling more confident.
I have now been for many swims and still love going with Louise as I always feel safer and more confident when she is there."
